Description: Here we have for sale an ORIGINAL September 1901 print by Charles Gustrine & Company titled, "Our Martyrs". This was done to memorialize the three presidents we lost to assassination in less than forty years. Abraham Lincoln, William McKinley, and James Garfield. Print was done the same month that McKinley was shot (Sept. 14, 1901). Wonderful frame with the gilt work intact (second pic was with a flash). This is a large frame measuring 30 1/2" x 26 1/4" on the outside and inside the glass measures 19 1/2" x 15 1/2". Frame is solid and it is made of heavy oak with deep recessed gold guilt work (please see pics). Frame looks original to the print as the nails are still in their original positions. You will see a discolored edge in the upper right corner of piece and in a couple other places. This is old glue residue that is on the glass, not the print. Glass should be removed, cleaned, and reset if it really bothers you. Just want to let you know that it is there.
