Description: STK: #BAYO-6Brought to you by CAMARILLO TRADERS specialists in new, used & antique arms, collectible militaria and rustic ephemera 1920's Era Interwar Yugoslavian Army M1924/30 Short Rifle Sword (blued) Bayonet (M1924/30 Hilt), Serial #I4808 and Metal Scabbard Manufacturer: Scrubbed, worn off Model: M1924/30 Blade Length: Approximately 15" Serial #: Bayonet #I4808 / Scabbard N/A TEXT GOES HERETEXT GOES HERE --> Offered here is a 1920's era interwar Yugoslavian 8mm bolt action Mauser short rifle M1924/30 bayonet and scabbard. Originally, these bayonets would have been in the white. Later the Germans blued them. They were patterned after the Belgian FN M1924 rifle. This one is a later blued version. Overall, this bayonet is in Good - Very Good condition, considering its age and history. The press catch is functional with very stiff spring tension. The pommel and guard are securely fastened to the tang. They both have very light superficial oxidation and scrapes. The remaining finish has turned a darker gray patina color. The screw escutcheons securely fasten the wood grip panels. They have light tool marks with strong slots and light oxidation. The wood grips have chips, compressions and draglines. The wood has darkened with time. The knife appears straight and not bent. The blade's spine, fullers and sides have light scrapes and a light layer of superficial oxidation - almost not worth mentioning. The blade's cutting edge has no nicks or dings and appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a semi-sharp point. The finish has been blued and most of it still remains. The back of the pommel is marked with the serial number "I4808", but the "I" could be a Cyrillic letter. The left side pommel is marked with the Cyrillic letter "DJ" within a circle (it looks like a "y"). The scabbard is in Good - Very Good condition, considering its age and history. The bayonet slides in and out correctly and smoothly. The frog stud is securely attached to the body. The body has impact marks, oxidation and scrapes. The remaining finish has turned a darker gray patina color. The frog stud appears to have a marking that looks like a box and a cross inside? This bayonet and scabbard will be a great addition to your Yugoslavian rifle, or a bayonet collection in general. As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
