Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE SPOTTER'S HANDBOOK, by Francis Chichester (Flight-Lieutenant, N.Z.A.F.(Retd.) Johnston Memorial Trophy for Navigation, 1931, Air Navigation Specialist, Henry Hughes & Son, Ltd., published by George Allen & Unwin in London in 1941. Illustrated throughout with diagrams of aircraft. Sir Francis Charles Chichester KBE was a British businessman, pioneering aviator and solo sailor. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for becoming the first person to sail single-handed around the world by the clipper route and the fastest circumnavigator, in nine months and one day overall in 1966–67.Pale green cloth hardboards with brown lettering to front board and to spine. Some discolouration to both boards and spine. Rubbing to head and tail. Lightly bumped bottom corners. Pencil annotations to prelims. Binding generally tight. Pages generally clean.
