Description: For sale is an awesome 1950 Type 1 Original Photo of Jackie Robinson. In this incredible action shot Jackie is seen in a battle while heading home. This was captured during the first game of a doubleheader against the Pirates at Ebbets Field. Jackie was leading off on first when Gil Hodges roped a ball into center field. Everyone knew Jackie was a threat in baseball especially in this moment when he tried to score on a single. With Robinson being shortly removed from his Running Back days at UCLA, makes a running back style move in an electrifying attempt to avoid the tag at home plate. Unfortunately he would get tagged in this attempt while standing right beside Pee Wee Reese. Jackie ended the season with a .342 batting average while helping him finish 2nd with both doubles and triples. He also finished the season with 124 RBIs and 122 runs with 37 stolen bases earning himself the National League MVP Award and Batting Champion. This would also get him voted to his first All-Star game which was monumental. This was the first All-Star game that introduced players from the Color Barrier which included teammate Roy Campanella. This photo has been Authenticated and Encapsulated by PSA DNA as a TYPE 1 Original Photo. This photo was taken May 20th 1950 and is Credited to "ACME News pictures". The size is 7 x 9 inches and is in Excellent Condition. There is a minor paper loss on the bottom left corner. This is truly an awesome photo and tells the story of who Jackie really was. He was a player with heart and the only one that was trying to score on a base hit! This Photo comes with Free Insured Shipping that will arrive in 3-5 days.
