Description: Gibson Les Paul Custom “Blood-Orange” SN# 80003321 For sale is a One-of-a-kind 1983 LesPaul. This beauty is the result of many months of work & artistry. The Serial number is located in the Cavity only and is that of a 1983 LesPaul Standard converted to a Custom. Originally conceived by a former Gibson Custom Shop employee as his personal (a 25+ yr. artisan). * The Neck was hand carved to 83’ LPC specifications in 3 piece hand-milled Honduran Mahogany, custom Ebony Fretboard, MOP block inlay. Neck does not have the serial number nor the “Made in USA” details on it. Though does have the Gibson Custom Shop logo on the rear of the headstock. HAS A COMPLETE All OEM 1984 Pots & harness * All Hardware, wire harness, hardware & pick-ups are entirely OEM. The Three Pickups are all Gibson Custom Shop “57 Classics” The Paint, headstock MOP, body & binding were entirely painstakingly hand dyed to a uniquely stunning Blood Orange hue. (Paint scheme Cost >$3k)* Only one other Gibson LPC is known to have this paint style & known to exist. The finish against the “Tiger-Striped” maple top is awesome. There’s a small finish chip on the front between the tail piece and body strap due possibly due to age. A small touched up (though not really necessary) would do the trick. (See pic) The guitar is in Excellent condition no dents, scarring or scuffs though minimal buckle rash. There is some hardware fading and some finish checking around the binding consistent with a guitar 40 years of age! Headstock logo is slightly offset due to freehand-cutting. All Boltaron was painstaking evenly tinted to match the front, side and rear binding. Back when neck was made Gibson logos /eBay sims. Weren’t available so needed to be hand carved. Another TRUE fretless wonder * A TRUE Show-Stopper & Player! * Is a truly outstanding piece of visual art & playability. Selling due to the loss of dexterity in an auto accident. This instrument needs the playing & the showing-off it deserves. The pics will show the evolution of this piece of art in the making. * She comes in an OEM Deluxe case / pink interior & apron also in excellent condition. The Original builder has long since gone to “The-great-Concert-in-the-sky”. * Recently given a full check up & set-up. All electronics work perfectly no hiss, hum or buzz.
