Description: A BRAND NEW OFFERINGA complete fence for the vintage Delta 6 x 48 belt sanderDelta offered an adjustable position fence for the belt sander when it was first produced. These parts are now obsolete through Delta.However, we are now manufacturing a similar fence system, complete with adjustable position brackets, adjustable position handles, and clear poplar fence boards.The brackets are similar to the OEM Delta brackets, but are of our own design and have been meticulously CNC machined from 1” thick billet aluminum bar stock.Each fence kit comes with two fence board systems, cut from premium grade, knot-free, clear poplar material. One is 15.75” long by 3” tall, to produce 90° squared edges when sanding upright against the fence. The second included fence board consists of a 15.75” long board x 1.625” tall and has a secondary board attached at 90° to act as an end stop. All fence boards have been finished with radius cut edges and corners. The following is a list of the components that are included in our 6 x 48 fence kit: 1. Two double ended zinc plated 7/16-14 studs that screw into existing tapped holes on the main casting of the 6 x 48 sander. 2. Two laser cut .125” thick stainless steel washers that space the brackets up and off the sanding belt. 3. Two CNC machined jewelry-like billet aluminum slotted brackets that the fence board attaches to and are clamped to the sander’s table in whatever position is desired.4. Two 7/16” stainless steel flat washers that go on top of the brackets, between the bracket and clamp handle.5. Two black powder coated adjustable position ball end handles, similar in shape to the original Delta adjustable handles. These handles lift against a spring to allow repositioning them to clear adjoining hardware.6. One ¾” thick x 3” x 15¾” clear poplar fence board that has been drilled and countersunk for flush insertion of the flat head bolts that mount the board to the brackets.7. One ¾” thick x 1.65” x 15¾” clear poplar fence board that also has been drilled and countersunk for the flat head bolts.8. One ¾” thick x 1.25” x 6” clear poplar board that can be secured to either fence as a back stop.9. Two 5/16-18 x 1¼” zinc plated flat head bolts for securing either fence board to the brackets. 10. Two #8 x 2½” Torx drive screws for securing the end stop board to the main fence board. 11. As a bonus, a copy of the original Delta 6 x 48 belt sander’s operator manual is included. In that manual, Delta has explained, in both photos and text, how to properly set up and use the fence on the sanding machine. This fence accessory has been available through several aftermarket sources for some time, but never at the extremely high quality and significantly reduced cost that we are offering it for.
