Description: The Patch: This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage 3rd Air Force patch with a white back. This patch is in good condition. It has a very nice white backing. This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic. The History: The 3rd Air Force was activated on April 9th, 1941 when the Southeast Air District was redesignated. It was responsible for the Air defense of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The 3rd Air Force trained a lot of pilots and air crews at bases near Tampa, FL. They participated in anti-submarine efforts over the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. They also trained all types of air personnel for duty overseas.Please read my auction requirements.
