Description: For this listing we offer four (4) vintage 1960's original "Gear Grip" Precision Ground BLACK HARDENED 1/8" Steel Axles with a flat space in center of Axle with 5:40 Threads on each end and 8 Nuts. Replace your standard 5-40 front axle with this special axle these new precision ground BLACK HARDENED steel axles are for easier mounting on the new threaded 5:40 spur and crown gears. Measurements 1/8" X 2 1/4" Long with steel 5:40 threads on each end. These fit 1/24th, 1/25th and 1/32nd scales. Manufactured in the 1960's by Hercules Manufacturing. Part # GT102. My Dad owned a Hobby Shop that closed in the early 1970's, and he kept some of the more interesting slot cars and accessories from that era.
