Description: 43 hand pieced quilt blocks.Block size ranges from 6.5” to 7.25”, not consistent .Per Barbara Brackman’s “Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns”, this pattern #1631b is known as Lone Star, Texas Star, or other star related names. The following is a guess on my part.It could be these blocks were pieced by a number of women to be given to an engaged woman or someone leaving their church/town.Workmanship varies. Some blocks are expertly pieced. Some very old print fabrics in these blocks. Again, my guess is 1840-1865. All hand pieced.Unwashed.The block with pink fabric has some stains.Several other blocks show aging and perhaps stains from contact with paper or wood. One block has tacked to it the center block template cut from what appears to be an old postcard. Please review all photos. Feel free to ask any questions. I do not know the ownership history of these blocks, so I can’t speak to any contact with pet hair or other allergens. If this is a concern for you, please do not bid. No return.
