The Gibson LG-2 is one of the famous flattops that is almost perfectly made for the blues. The combination of a smaller body and cross bracing reduces unwanted sustain and provides a tight, controlled tone that blues and jazz players love. Nearly 70 years of aging have developed a beautiful tone with a hand-selected spruce top and Honduras mahogany back and sides. Whether you play strokes, fingerstyle or slide, the LG-2 is perfect for blues. Naturally, you can play any kind of music with the LG-2. Being a completely handmade Gibson, it is flexible for any kind of music. This guitar is in "player's grade" condition and has had several restorations over the years, including a bridge replacement and some tuner changes. There are some marks, but the structure is fine. The top has a noticeable crack repair under the sound hole, but the body is clean with very little bulge and the bridge intonation is good. The original nitrocellulose lacquer has aged nicely. The action is good and the neck is comfortable to play in any position. The frets have likely been replaced in the past and show little wear. The truss rod is in good working order. The full-scale neck has a small round C profile with a 1-11/16" (43.5mm) nut width and a dark rosewood fingerboard in good condition. Mother-of-pearl dot inlays, button-top tuners, pickguard, and front and rear binding round out the look. There are some marks, scratches and pain peeling on the body. Guitar stand is not included.
