In DC's comics, Cat Grant, a newly relocated gossip columnist for the Daily Bugle who immediately set her sights on Clark Kent, debuted in the first issue of the all-new DC series, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #424, which continued the numbering of SUPERMAN (VOL 1), the ongoing series it replaced with its title-change. Adventures of Superman also introduced several other key characters to the supporting cast of the larger Superman mythos, most notably GENERAL SAM LANE, the Army father of Lois Lane who is not a fan of Superman or superheroes in general. Lane has already appeared in several TV iterations of Superman and Supergirl, and will undoubtedly become part of Gunn's live-action cast at some point in the future of the DCU. From a historic perspective as well as an in-Universe informative one, Jerry Ordway's cover art sets Superman before the Metropolis skyline. Two of the buildings drawn into that skyline are the TWIN TOWERS of the WORLD TRADE CENTER. Ordway's cover clearly pre-dates the WTC bombing by over a decade, but the Towers inclusion in his image confirm that Superman's city of Metropolis is not New York City in name only.
