Description: For your consideration, a working, wind-up portable phonograph. I was told this style was called a "suitcase" because it's fabric covering resembled a suitcase of the era. Most likely made from early to late 1930s, could possibly be a General Industries in Elyria, Ohio. It should have a G.I. or Heinemann Junior branded motor in it., and sold as a unbranded, catalog-only machine. I was told there could possibly be markings within the case, but I don't want to take it apart. I'll leave that to the next person who wants to restore it. Features a unique double vented shutters in the front which slide back and forth (left/right) as a means to control volume. Crank present and has to inserted pretty straight into the box to contact the motor threads. Otherwise, it cranks with no difficulties and the motor and speed control work well. Haven't tested for sound. player piece with needle seems to have not "resting" spot. Case cover will require restoration, but mechanically it seems sound. As generic a phonograph player of the era as it could get. Any questions welcome, thanks for looking.
