Description: Antique Alfred Pollak 14K ART DECO Dark AMETHYST Earrings STAMPED 585 Clip On Excellent wearable pre-owned condition. No alterations or repairs. There are some surface scratches, as expected for a preowned item. Stones and setting are in excellent condition for age. Stamped with purity mark of 585. The purity mark is numerical meaning it is 58.5% pure gold or 14 karat gold. Tested positive for Amethyst Gemstones. (See photo.) Each stone measures approximately 11mm high by 11mm side and 7mm deep, about 4 carats each stone. (I say approximate as I measured them while they were still in the setting, please allow for slight variation.)Stones are very deep purple, excellent quality. Total weight of setting and stones is approximately 6 grams. Signed "AP" with no asterisk or other maker marks, recognized as the marker's mark for jeweler Alfred Pollak. Alfred Pollak specialized in crafting handmade fine jewelry & silver goods. He founded his company in Prague in 1878, opened a branch in Budapest in 1892, another branch in Vienna and was the Imperial Court Supplier to Emperor Franz Joseph in 1996.
