Description: Antique Ball Sewing Measuring Silver Tape Metal Figural Chatelaine Little silver (untested) tape measure. Tape is complete and works by turning the handle on the side tape. It was probably made in England in the early 19th century, probably by Joseph Taylor of Birmingham. English silversmiths were not required by law to hallmark and pay duty on small silver items in these times. Nice condition with no dents. The faded red silk tape is original and marked in inches. Little damage to the tape. The tape winds into the case by turning the knob on the side of the tape.
