Description: This antique Dietz carriage lamp is a beautiful piece of history from the 1800s. The lamp is made of brass and has a painted finish. It features a lantern shade shape and a single kerosene light source with a knob control. The lamp measures @14-1/2" in length, 7-1/2" in height, and 6-3/4" in width. The light color is clear in the front and red lens in the back, and the lamp has multiple settings. It depends on how bright you want it the more wick you let out the more light you will get ..It has manufacturing dates of Jan 26 1897 -Nov 24 1903–and Oct 9 1906 and has a Victorian style. The Dietz lamp is an original piece and was made in New York United States of America . I did take the item apart to see if all the wick wheel/knob was working(and it does let out the wick and pulls it back in and down.. The bottom and the back has some small dents as you can see from the pictures.. Other than that, it’s been pretty great shape. for being over 120 years old. Also looks like somebody painted over the brass. This is an estate sale find..
