Description: Lovely early 1900s oak file/recipe box. Unusual hinge mechanism and solid brass catch. Box measures 5 1/2” long by 3 1/4” deep and 4” tall. Inside dimensions are 5 1/8" long x 2 3/4" deep x 3 1/2" high. Box is assembled using 1/4" thick oak and fingerjoints were used for strength. Fully lined with new dark green felt. Box was cleaned and refinished with MinWax satin varnish and hand-polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax for a soft luster. Shipping weight approximately 1lb.
