Description: This is a beautiful, refurbished set of Tom Stewart hickory shafted irons. This 9 club set includes the following clubs... 1 iron 20 degrees, C6, 39 1/4 inches2 iron 24 degrees, C8 38 1/2 inches3 iron 28 degrees, C4, 38 inches4 iron 32 degrees, C2, 37 1/2 inchesmashie 36 degrees, C6, 37 inches2 mashie 40 degrees, B9, 36 3/4 inchesmashie niblick 45 degrees, C5, 36 1/4 inchesniblick 52 degrees, E9, 36 inchesputter unusual "wry necked" putter, 34 1/2 inches The clubs in this set were all completely refurbished. Heads were pulled and ferrules were checked for cracks below the hosel and heads were epoxied back on with Brampton's Pro-Fix long cure epoxy and pinned with brass head pins. Shafts have all been sanded and re-varnished with Zinser Bullseye Shellac. Whipping has been installed on above the hosel on all clubs to reinforce clubs from cracking in a classic area for hickory shafts to break. I install it on all my player clubs. Clubs have all been re-gripped with fresh rough side out cow hide grips in a beautiful chocolate brown color. You will notice that the clubs have also all been set to have the proper stepping down in length as the lofts increase. You will see in the list of clubs that these clubs have also had lofts adjusted to provide even coverage for gaps from 20 degrees to 52 degrees. This is a beautiful set of Stewart irons that are ready for play or display. All shafts have been thoroughly inspected, but there is never a guarantee on antique hickory shafted clubs from breakage. Never hit range balls with hickory wood shafts. These clubs are meant to be played with "soft cover" balls like the Callaway Chrome Soft or the Titleist ProV1.
