Description: These were just too cool to pass up at a recent estate sale. Definitely out of our wheelhouse but these looked interesting. We bought them as they had been bases for lamps that had broken and not salvageable. We pulled out the posts and wiring and decided they should be repurposed for what they were originally used for - bookends. The seals were quite oxidized and while we know some of the purists out there prefer that, these also needed a good cleaning. Plus the silver color that polished out looks so much better against the black background. Seals could definitely be polished better but if you knew where we started from, you’d be impressed. Now because we took the lamp parts out there is a hole behind each seal - but it can’t be seen unless you are looking directly down. There is also a screw or bolt inside that is loose in each one from when we took the broken lamp pieces off. Each entire base and seal is metal. Each book ends well over 2 pounds in weight. Each is right at 6 inches in length. The Ronson Metal Works sticker is still on one of the bases. These are just so unique and we hope they reach the right person who loves seals and appreciates them for their artistic qualities. Will ship USPS with tracking to winning buyer
