April Fools Prank: Tiny Random Annoying PCB Beeper, Cricket Chirp, Fake Smoke

Randomly beeps after a one to ten minute delay. Much like the low smoke detector battery signal when you are trying to fall sleep; just more random and much more difficult to find! Use the included mode button to select one of the three modes: a) fixed tone for maximum volume, b) random tone that plays at various frequencies and volumes, c) Cricket-like chirp/warble. Includes a CR2032 battery (only if shipping to USA) and a high quality Japanese-brand piezo speaker rated for for 92dB at 10cm. You may use the "length" button to chose between a 1-10 minute random delay or a longer 4-40 minute random delay when turning it on. Stealth Mode - This awesome feature allows you to set an approximate time delay until the next beep/chirp occurs. (Subsequent beeps then occur on the normal 1 to 10 minute or 4 to 40 minute schedule.) For example, you can hide it in your boss’s office and leave on vacation. Then when it starts chirping the next day, you aren’t around to be blamed. Time delay can be set in 2 hour increments up to about 48 hours. Dimensions - Measures about 61mm x 25mm x16mm tall. Power - All models last for months on a fresh CR2032 battery. Inexpensive replacement batteries are available online and at local drugstores and supermarkets. Note: Coin cell batteries included for orders shipping to USA but not included to international destinations. Mounting - Includes double-sided tape on the back for mounting to smooth surfaces. Be sure to mount it to a surface that does not conduct electricity so the solder joints on the rear side of the circuit board do not short together. Construction - I designed the circuit board, wrote the software, and perform the hand-assembly and testing at my home in Ohio. Beware of lower-quality Asian builds that do not publish the decibel ratings of their speakers! There is no random tone available on this version. For the Geeks out there... the random delay is created by a fancy algorithm called a linear congruential generator and is seeded by a unique serial number read from the microprocessor. This means the delay is as near random as possible and doesn't use a predefined repetitive sequence.
