Description: One nice, original equipment alloy cylinder barrel to suit an Ariel HS or HT 500, also VH500 for you hot rodders out there. This cylinder is in very good condition with no broken fins or other damage. The large base flange would be correct for later engines, approximately 1956+ (buyer to verify). This cylinder has been sleeved and fit with a monster 87mm Wiseco piston, for a displacement of about 564cc. The piston measures 3.4234” and the bore has 0.0045”-0.005” clearance. The piston appears unused and may be used as is, but has evidence of rough handling and has modifications to the valve pockets. The cylinder appears to have not been used in the current oversize configuration, though the hone cross-hatch angle could be improved upon. A standard alloy VH head does mate to this cylinder. One or two head studs may need to be replaced. Standard crankcase may need to be bored to accept the sleeve; small end bush will need to be modified to match the metric wrist pin.
