You need a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the adhesive that holds the old emblem. You can skip this step if you live in a very warm climate. The heat will soften the glue making it easier to remove it. Keep the hair dryer/heat gun about 3 inches away from the emblem and heat the entire emblem evenly. Periodically check how hot the paint is getting, you do not want to overheat the paint. Once the adhesive has softened you should be able to easily remove the old emblem off the car. We highly recommend dental floss or any emblem removal tool. Note: be very careful as the paint surface will be hot! 2. Once you have removed the old emblem you will need to clean the surface from the glue residue that is left behind. This can be done by applying some adhesive/glue remover, that is safe for the paint like original Goo Gone, to a microfiber towel and cleaning the surface. It may take some good old fashioned elbow grease to remove the glue residue. As an alternative we also highly recommend the “3M Stripe OFF Wheel” that will last you for years. Once all the adhesive is removed use some rubbing alcohol to clean the paint surface from any grease or dirt, this will allow the tape on the new badge to stick correctly and this is a MUST DO STEP. 3. Please make sure the surface is DRY. You can install the emblem letter/number by letter/number or whole emblem at once. One by one:You can use some blue painters tape to help mark off the area where you will be placing the emblem. When ready to apply the emblem remove the white backing paper from the back of the new emblem, be careful not to touch the adhesive part. Line the emblem up so it's straight (you will only have one chance to do this right) and firmly hold the emblem in place for 30 seconds. Whole emblem at once:Keep the clear film on top and remove the backing white paper and install the emblem at once. Please note that the emblem comes with letters NOT aligned. We recommend measuring your old emblem spacing and using a ruler evenly space out the new emblem letters and numbers on the clear top film.
