Two volume set With descriptions, an amatuer synopsis, rules for laying out sea-weeds, an order for arranging them in the herbarium and an appendix of new species. By Mrs Alfred Gatty 1st editions published in London by Bell and Daldy in 1872. 10ins by 6.5ins Volume 1 - xlix plus 37 colour plates each with 2pp of descriptive text, each plate depicting several sea-weeds. A little scattered foxing. The bindind has resulted in slight crinkling of pages in the gutters. Small inscription on front free endpaper. Volume 2 - plates 38-80. Descriptive text for plate 71 has partially stuck to the blank page bofore the illustration resulting in a small tear where is has pulled away. Boards are a little rubbed and slightly spotted with a sight lean to the spines. UK couirer service is post free Courier service to USA, Canada is £25; to Australia, Asia is £30 I only charge actual postage as close as I can estimate it. All parcels are insured in transit.
