Description: c 1920 Hammersley & Co fluted serving plate, spectacular "English Chintz" pattern #3257. Dimensions: 21.5 cm deep and 23.5 cm across with moulded handles. Masses of gorgeous hand painted flowers in the most brilliant colours, with gilded edges and handle highlights, truly spectacular. The colours and gilding are bright, crisp and fresh, and the artist's name F Howard is hand written in very small font in among the decoration in two places. In perfect "as new" original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, this piece is in pristine condition with absolutely no sign of use. There are a few random, very small kiln fleck or glaze marks, and some micro crazing, entirely consistent with the manual production techniques of the time. There are no back stamps or pattern number. I have listed 11 identical tea trios in varying condition separately, along with matching sugar bowl & milk jug, in the same pattern. Ref 899
