Description: This lens is a version 2, made around 1952. Serial #3470651. Aperture consists of 14 blades. Aperture and focus rings work smoothly! There are some nicks and scratches on the housing. To be expected with a lens of this age. All lenses received new mounts, mostly made of aluminum, and in small numbers also made of chrome-plated brass in the same design. Some series of Biotar were also temporarily produced with a black lacquered mount. The lenses are fully coated, indicated by a red " T " in the front ring. Uncoated lenses were only supplied on special request. The Tessar is still mainly built with a speed of 1:3.5, only very few lenses can be found with a speed of 1:2.8 in this design. The aperture shape is still the normal aperture (NB) without a click.
