Description: Early W & R Carlton ware blush ware butter dish with fluted edge made in England, I believe this is the cistus pattern although not named. Makers mark and registered numbers RD 176552 and RD 246960 to the base. These numbers date from 1894. The dish is in good used condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. The pattern, gilt and decoration are also in good condition with only very minor wear. See photos for condition. The base measures 18cm wide and just over 9cm high with the lid.
