On other side of case is a notch cut out.Front bezel and case look like one unit - it does not open. The lume is original and faded to lovely patinaPerhaps where the "NAVY Mark 1" area is written, perhaps this was at one time erroneously covered by a label or other item to cover this. Any Questions?
