Description: An authentic Chelsea of Boston marine barometer encased in heavy brass with original the original factory cradle of wood.Barometer itself measures 7 1/2' diameter across front bezel and is 3 1/2' in depth. The marine instrument sets into a groove on the cradle for mantel mounting, although it can be easily removed and displayed on a bulkhead or wall. Stamped on the rear side of the barometer is the number 80. Sturdy marine instrument works fine. The brass case comes factory coated brass from Chelsea to retard tarnishing. There is some minor ware of the coating but I have used this instrument for about 10 years on the coast line and the finish has held up very well during that time. I have never needed to polish it up. I bought this barometer new from Chelsea myself and paid dearly for it. I wanted the best.
