Chevy 235, 261 Finned Polished Side Cover 50-62 6061-T6 Stainless Bolts Gasket

Description: Don't be 1 of 100,000! Buy Custom, Hand Machined by Outcastim (me) a 11 Fin Push Rod Side Cover. 1950-62 Chevy 235 261 Custom 6061 Aluminum with Gasket and Choice of Stainless Steel Button Head "OR" Hex Head 1/4-20 x 3/4" with SS flat washers (10 of Each) NOT CHEAP, THIN CASTING! MACHINED From 6061 T6 Aluminum. Now, ask those Other Guys what they made theirs from. A380 or 383? 319 or 356? Maybe ADC12 (Asia) or B390, A413, A360 or some other Melted Beer Can Blend! Is it Sand Casting, Permanent Mold or Die? Do those Sellers even Know?!! All are INFERIOR in Tensil Strength, Chemical & Weather Resistance and resistance to Stress Fractures (Cracking) when compared to 6061 T6 Aluminum! REMEMBER THIS WHEN PURCHASING CAST, MEGA PRODUCED PRODUCTS! (and don't drop castings :( ) KUSTOM II Fin, 235 Stage 1 Polished Pushrod Side Cover. Finish Process: 3M Scotch Brite Wheel after Brush Sanding then rubbed out with Fine Steel Wool, very Hands On Piece! Then to the Buffing Wheel and rouge. I'll tell you a fact, I'm not a fan of Buffing Parts. It's Messy, Time Consuming, clean up is a pain! This is Stage 1, good Street Car look. If I wanted to spend another 1.5+ hours to achieve Stage II High Polish you might not like the price. As is said, "Time is Money" and I'd rather Machine, Fabricate and Weld, Play Slap Tag with a Rattlesnake (a lot around here) than buff parts..... 1/4" radius Ball End Mill used to cut the Flutes. Making a 11 Fin takes more patience and time then the other 3/8", 5/16" or combo units I've sold this year. This is unit #001 of the Eleven Fin Series if I decide to make others. Might make one with Brush Finish if any interest is shown in this style. !NOTE! I have a Road Draft Tube on my '53, the cover has been clearance cut for it. If you have a stock Road Draft Tube then this unit is already notched for it. If you like to be different, not one of 100,000+ duplicate made "Cheapo" castings, then please look. The Raw 6061 Aluminum Plate was purchased from USA METAL ONLINE here on eBay (metalclm). They've been fair with me so they get a plug... MUCH STRONGER AND MORE CORROSION RESISTANT THAN CAST PRODUCTS FOR SALE!! 6061 T6/T651 is highly versatile and normally used for aerospace, marine, electronics, ornamental, machinery, and structural applications. 6061 aluminum has a high strength-to-weight ratio, above average corrosion resistance, good machinability, and is excellent for welding. READ, READ, READ, READ Yes there are machining marks, this is NOT Cast or made on a CNC that's cranking out 200 pcs a Day. It was Hand Machined on my manual Knee type Mill in my home shop, way out in the cactus sticks of Arizona ( ...where the snakes and coyotes play...). All can be seen in pics. When in your engine bay you will be Cool as James Dean ( not a George McFly). Look at pics carefully, this has been test fit on my '53 235 Oil Slinger and my '56 235 Full Oiler blocks Standard & Automatic. If your engine accepts the Fel-Pro PS 5130 gasket then it fits. 235, 261. Run it as it is, powder coat, paint, pin strip, show polish or chrome it, up to you! ASK QUESTIONS, PURCHASE RESPONSIBLY Important Ramblings, Read I have the small Cap HEI Distributor, just needed to round the stock distributor base clamp to keep it from gouging the cover (see pic). A stock distributor base clamp may need some mods or minor clearance mod to bottom edge of cover if anything (no one has mentioned needing to I did learn that GM bolt pattern drilling was not consistent on the block for the Pushrod Side Cover. There is .050" variances on my 235 blocks. What bolted on to my '56 block didn't on the '53 block until I slot machined all the holes. I see Other Makers just hog out bigger round holes and expect it will work, that reduces gasket sealing area around the bolt holes where it matters, above a below. The reverse side has a pocket machined in it to clear the oil line fitting. The oil line running to the rear may need to be pushed in to assure clearance with the cover. Do not beat or pry on tube, push it with your hand, use a straight edge across the bolt surfaces to get 1/16" clearance. My '56 block was good as it was,, the '53 needed to be pushed in to clear.. Once gasket is on that will give about 1/8" clearance which is plenty (see pics). Yes this cover is designed to be used with a gasket, that's why one is included! Sorry for the Book. RETURNS If you decide Not to be Custom (a George McFly) DO NOT INSTALL IT!!! I do not want a eBay Return of a gasket goo'd up mess. ...its not mass produced and I'm not Summit Racing or Speedway. Love those guys but don't have their resources... Returns: Only if returned in same condition as received. returned UNUSED in original, undamaged packaging with All included hardware and gasket. Buyer Pays for Return Shipping. Failure to follow instructions can lead to refund adjustments (-$ minus) Thanks
