You will want to read and take a look PAGES: Pages all present, well attached, and uncreased and unmarked. Only discoloration is some mild but expected age toning, a few small random age type spots, plus one page has a smudge at bottom (see ebay photos) Only tears are a very few random edge chips to pages. You want to know there is a sticker placed on interior front pastedown (it reads Case I, shelf 1) EXTERIOR: Bright gold lettering on front and spine. Remains in good attractive antique condition.... does have some patches of light discoloration (mainly along edges) and some random scratches and rubs due to normal handling and shelving through the ages.... see ebay photos BINDING: Everything is bound and attached. You want to know the front hinge is wide, exposes the underlying netting. Since book has a wiggle to it, you will want to handle with care. ALSO... for some reason the book was created an unnoticed flaw by publisher.... first illustrated plate (the frontispiece) and it's facing index/list of insects within illustration, are bound at correct place , but bound in 'upside down'
