Description: These shoes were made prior to 1973. They have a leather heel stack and the vcleat goes to the sole edge. I replaced the heels and used square nails in the original pattern. The steel vcleats were unusable so it was replaced with a rubber vcleats. The shoes have been reconditioned and restored. The soles are firm and there is not excessive toe wear. It took me many hours to do the heel restoration, but I wanted to learn how to do it. The date code is HD which suggests that these were manufactured in August 1963. Although the heels were done by me (an "amateur"), they turned out quite nice. Cobblers rarely take the time to do this kind of detail work and if done it costs a significant amount of money.
