Description: Up for sale is an uncirculated, lustrous, lightly toned, silver 1906-A French Indo-China Piastre, graded PCGS. MS61. Completely original and problem free. Beautiful, light gold toning, well struck. Perfect collector coin. In higher uncirculated grades, these increase astronomically in price. Obverse features the seated figure of Lady Liberty. Reverse features denomination at the center, encircled within wreath. The capital letter βAβ on the reverse, below the denomination and within the wreath, identifies the Paris mint. These silver coins were minted by the French, mostly in Paris, for use in trade in their Southeast Asian colonies. Their commercial purpose is underscored by the reverse legend, in which is engraved the coinβs weight of 27 grams, and its silver fineness of .9000.
