The largest growing orchid of them all! **THIS IS THE PHILIPPINE VARIANT OF THE PLANT - SO THIS PLANT BLOOMS THE BLOOMS WHICH LOOK ALMOST BURGANDY ON A WHITISH BACKGROUND.This is the undisputed KING of all orchids. It grows larger than any other orchid and is capable of making THOUSANDS of large flowers when in bloom. Interestingly, this plant is awfully unique in the orchid world. It isn't like there are a whole bunch of giant orchids and Grammatophyllum speciousum is "one of them". I don't think ANY other orchid gets even remotely close!! Keep in mind, this orchid has been reputed to reach a TON in weight. But let's get real here.. that's a hundred + year old plant. In this case though, yes if you take care of this plant, not only does it get very, very large - but it's EASY to grow. If you are an orchid collector - this should be on your list of "plants you need to have in your collection" It is a very hard plant to find to buy. This plant is a beast. This is a 10 inch pot! If you look at the soda can you can get an idea just how large this is. It has some MAJOR weight being such a large pot and since I grow them in pure lava rock and it is a lot of biomass in the pot.THIS DIVISION was made WELL OVER A YEAR AGO and IS FROM A PLANT WHICH HAS PREVIOUSLY BLOOMED - Therefore it is a MATURE PLANT.
