The Road Trip Series is great because David Lemieux and Blair Jackson produced the compilations. They pulled highlights from a small leg of a tour rather than releasing an entire show. So if you love Dick's and Dave's Picks, you'll love this. 1971 was a great year, and the 2 shows included here (7/31/71 Yale Bowl in New Haven & 8/23/71 Auditorium Theater in Chicago) shortly follow the recordings released in their great live album Skull and Roses and capture a lot of that same spirit as a smaller, leaner 5-piece rock band.
