VANHANJA (formerly Finger Lakes International) DESCRIPTION A scarce MNH Block of 4 with lower selvage attached. These stamps are an official HAPAG Line reprint dated 1955. Stamps of this type were first used in the 1880's to be used on ships and later in the West Indies as regular postage between very small countries that did not have postal services. They were reprinted at various times, of which the 1938 and 1955 are the best known examples. The 1955 reprints are marked Nachdruck 1955 on the gum side. I also have a few strips 2 and strips of 3 stamps in addition to some vary scarce gutter pairs and Tete Beche sheets of 24, containing 2 sheets of 12 stamps.
