Description: 12.5” F3 A-unit powered diesel, originally made 1954-55 has an original/complete 2245 shell upgraded on a 2-motor chassis that looks like from a 2343. Outwardly it looks the same as the correct 2245P chassis, it even has the correct red pilot. Inside is where the difference is, as it has 2 second-generation horizontal motors with Magne-Traction trucks. Chassis is complete with all parts including horn. There is a small spot of battery corrosion, spot underside. It was tested and ran fine both directions on bench, light worked. Horn was not tested, requires a D cell battery. Best side of shell looks EX, light dirt and edge wear. Other side and roof have a paint loss area as shown, also some edge wear shows gray plastic body mold. There is a tiny paint dot. Unit will improve some with cleaning. As is, no operation warranty. The 2343 chassis with Magne-Traction should just about double the pulling power of this loco yet still look correct on your shelf.
