Description: Maker: This lovely little candy or tidbit dish is by Hammersley & Co, the iconic Stoke-on-Trent, England, china factory. Hammersley began production in 1932. In 1976 it merged with Royal Worcester, and the Hammersley brand was retired in 1982. Design: The pretty and finely detailed pattern - called Victorian Violets - features beautifully hand painted bursts of purple blossoms against a pure white bone china background trimmed in gold. The pattern name appears on the reverse as part of the green Hammersley mark. Size: The dish is 4 1/4 inches long, 1 3/4 inches tall at the top of the handle and 4 1/4 inches wide. It weighs 3 ounces. Condition: There are no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, marks, stains, wear or repairs. There is a tiny scratch in the gold edge; it's not a crack, though it may look like a crack in the photos. It's shown in the photo with the red arrow. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
