Description: NEW in shrink.Campaign DecksTeam DecksPromo Team DecksMultiverse Plastic TokensMultiverse Cardboard LocationsMUN-KS34 Campaign DecksThis Kickstarter Exclusive brings a whole new way to play Marvel United, in the form of Campaigns! Each of these uses the full breadth of existing Marvel United components to recreate iconic story arcs from the comics! Players must battle through a series of 4 or 5 Games on average, facing events based on those comic storylines and living with the consequences of their actions. The Kickstarter Exclusive Campaign Decks set contains 8 different Campaigns, for a total of 114 cards:The Age of Apocalypse – 7 Games (23 cards)War of Kings – 4 Games (16 cards)Dark Phoenix Saga – 6 Games (16 cards)Avengers vs. X-Men – 5 Games (17 cards)X-Cutioner’s Song – 4 Games (13 cards)Age of Ultron – 4 Games (8 cards)Maximum Carnage – 3 Games (8 cards)World War Hulk – 4 Games (13 cards)Each campaign starts with a roster of Heroes that can be used in each game. As the campaign progresses, depending on what happens, new Heroes may be added to this roster while others are removed. New Heroes may even show up mid-game, depending on events! At the start of each game, the Rules card indicates which Villain must be used, any mandatory Locations that must be in play, and any other special setup instructions. A few games will even require playing with certain Challenges or in different modes, like Team vs Team, Super Villain, or Clash of Heroes (one particular case even calls for a Commander Solo Mode game). The back of a game’s Rules card indicates any special rules that must be used in that game, as well as listing triggers for specific Event cards. These could be if the Villain accomplishes a specific task, if the Heroes defeat a specific Henchman, if a specific Hero is KO’d, or many others. There are also usually triggers for winning the game or losing it (and also how the game is lost). When these triggers take place, players reveal the indicated Event card and resolve it. These might introduce a whole new set of rules to the game being played, changing it to a lesser or greater degree, they might affect the Heroes in specific ways, or add consequences for future games.Winning the game, players then proceed to the next game in the campaign, oftentimes with special changes depending on how victory was achieved. However, losing the game does not necessarily mean the campaign is lost. Depending on how they lose, players may be able to tackle the same game again, with a special handicap or additional aid, or just proceed to the next game carrying a negative consequence. Defeated Heroes may be removed from the available roster, and eventually players may simply lose the campaign outright. If they manage to come through each adversity, unlocking special surprises along the way, players will emerge victorious at the end of richly thematic campaign!-description from Kickstarter campaignMUN021 Team DecksMarvel United is all about teamwork, and Heroes are known for forming specialized teams from time to time. Avengers, X-Men, Defenders, Guardians of the Galaxy, to name but a few. Each of these teams develops its own characteristics and strategies, though being part of a structured team also comes with limitations and drawbacks.AvengersNew AvengersX-MenUncanny X-ForceDefendersA-ForceGuardians of the GalaxyDeadpool Team-UpAsgardians & AlliesSpider-ArmyChampionsWakandansUnited HeroesTeam Iron Man: Pro RegistrationTeam Captain America: Secret AvengersWhen adding a Team Deck to your game, all Heroes being used must be part of the same Team, and the Hard Challenge difficulty level should be used. That Team deck is shuffled and placed facedown within view of all players, with 2 cards revealed to form the Team Display. These are essentially Hero cards, with Action symbols at the bottom and a Special Effect. On their turn, a Hero can choose to either play a regular turn or they can choose to play a Team turn. In that case they don’t touch their Hero cards (neither drawing nor playing) but choose instead one of the Team cards in the Display and play that card in the Storyline, as if it were their own card. Immediately a new card is drawn from the deck to fill the Team Display (until the deck runs out). This not only brings a different flavor to the match, but also gives Heroes more options of what to do on their turn. However, there is a downside to playing as a Team. Most Team decks have at least one card with a mandatory negative effect. This is in effect as long as that card is faceup on the Team Display. In order to shut it down, a Hero must take one for the team by taking a Team turn, choosing the negative card, and playing it facedown in the Storyline. All Teams in this set can be played using solely Heroes which are part of boxes that are (or will be) available on retail. Although, of course, most of these Teams also have additional members who are part of exclusive expansions or Stretch Goals from this or previous campaigns. In the lists below, these latter characters are shown in italics. Also note that many of these Teams might still be bolstered by Heroes revealed over the course of the Multiverse campaign.-description from Kickstarter campaignMUN-KS33 Promo Team DecksA set of 15 different Team decks, the majority composed of 6 cards each, for a total of 92 cards!X-ForceWest Coast AvengersSavage AvengersResistance Against ApocalypseIlluminatiX-FactorExcaliburNew MutantsInfinity WatchInhumansFantastic FourForce WorksDefenders (Manhattan)Marvel KnightsAlpha FlightWhen adding a Team Deck to your game, all Heroes being used must be part of the same Team, and the Hard Challenge difficulty level should be used.
