Description: Modernist Henri MATISSE SERIAGRAPH Estate Stamped Ltd. Ed., mat, not framed Matisse's signature is in the plate with the official estate oval stamp above it on the right bottom. The edition is pencil signed and is number 815 / 975. I believe this seriagraph was made from one of Matisse's papercut collages. Entitled "Fleur a Quatre Petales" done with a gouache and decoupage techinque around 1946-47. The print size is 22 3/4" × 15 1/2 " and the black linen wrapped mat with medium blue liner measures 28" x 20 1/2" outside. Mat is probably 40-50 years old, may still be usable, but I would advise having it archivally backed. The print has some slight condition issues. A few soft creases, shown in detail photos, a couple of slight scratches on one of the black petals, also shown, and the print was originally masking taped to the mat, and remants are on the back of the piece. Most of the condition issues will not be visible once framed and under glass. An uplifiting and colorful piece for home or business.
