Description: Sixth-plate daguerreotype of Ann Pancoast Morris, born in Philadelphia on September 12, 1764, died in that city on February 17, 1858. She was a Quaker, the wife of Luke Wistar Morris, and is buried at Friends Western Burial Ground in Phila. Her father Joshua Pancoast was considered a master builder in the city. The Morris house is still standing in Philadelphia, at 225 South 8th Street, I think it's a hotel now, but the outside, at least, still looks like it did when Ann and her husband lived in it. Apparently it was a mirror image of The President's House (demolished 1832). Dag is full cased and appears to be in excellent condition.. the haze looks to be on the underside of the glass but I didn't want to break the seals to clean it. Case is in excellent condition. 7880B
