Description: Novo Combo 1st album Novo Combo’s eponymous first album was released in 1981 on Polydor Records. The album garnered some airplay on the tracks “Up Periscope” and “City Bound.” This is a copy of the test pressing of that first album, pressed by Presswell, a now defunct pressing plant in New Jersey. The white jacket is somewhat stained and discolored by age. There is letter of introduction to the band to press recipients from Sherry Ring, National Press and Artist Relations Manager at Polygram Records (pictured) along with label copy information taped to the front white generic cover (also pictured). Test pressings were produced by record companies to test the pressings of albums before going into full production. Sometimes they would be used to get music out to publications for review due to lead times, facilitating timely reviews with street dates. The amount of tests pressed varied on the amount of people required to hear a record for quality assurance and/or publications being serviced. The vinyl itself appears to be in very good to excellent shape.
