During communist era and also during World War 2 the Scouting was prohibited in Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and also in Czechoslovakia. Both dictatorships were aware of the fact that young people have to spend their free time meaningfully. And both dictatorships stole various ideas from Scouting - activities, organizing or even uniforms of girls and boys in their own organizations. In Czechoslovakia during communist regime these girls and boys were named Pionieri or Pioneers.
