Description: RARE, ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC patch from the US Navy's USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67). When an aircraft carrier is not deployed, they will sometimes be chosen to go out and conduct Carrier Qualifications (CQ) for some of the Training squadrons. In June 2001, VT-9 out of NAS Meridian, MS went to the JFK for CQ and this is the "class patch" they created.....It says "PARTYIN' LIKE A KENNEDY" (top left), "ICH BIN EIN 'HOOKER' " (top right), "BIG STONES - JUNE 01" (bottom left) and "HOOK TO STEEL" (bottom right). What's great about this patch is the Landing Signal Officers (LSOs) diving into the 'net' because the T-45 is so f'ed up on final. Note, the back of the LSO float coats say "MS" and "IX"....I laugh every time I look at this patch!!This patch has "a spray-thin plastic" backing, a "merrowed yellow" border, has a "dark blue twill" background, no velcro, and the dimensions are shown in the photos...the ruler on the right is 6". This is from a retired US NAVY CAPTAIN's collection I just acquired, and hope to find it a good home. This is an ORIGINAL ONE-OF only, so grab it while you can and is an AUTHENTIC patch obtained by the officer during one of his many tours/deployments.
