Description: Curated from an estate, we offer this lovely pair of vintage/antique Chinese landscape watercolor and ink paintings on silk. Faux bamboo wooden frames, beneath glass. We do not know the age or origin of these paintings. However, according to the Maxwell Museum at the University of New Mexico, we have a history of a Chinese American community here: "In the early 1900s, a small but permanent Chinese-American community took root in New Mexico, including refugees from the Communist takeover of mainland China, along with immigrants from Taiwan. New Mexico’s Chinese Americans are proud to be U.S. citizens, but also remember their ancient heritage." These paintings may have been created in New Mexico by a Chinese-American artist, or brought from mainland China. The tag on the back of the paintings indicates they were framed at the Chinese Fine Arts Gallery in Albuquerque, which no longer exists, and hasn't for many years. Each painting measures 13 x 19 inches, including the frame. Please review all listing photos and message me with any additional questions.
