This newly edited compilation series traces the transition of Pink Floyd from their early days with Syd Barrett to their new lineup with David Gilmour in 1968, and their solid establishment in the British progressive rock scene in the 1970s.The first compilation, “The Dawn of 1967∥1968”, covers the period from 1967, when Syd Barrett joined the band, to 1968.CD1 features the “AI Stereo New Master,” a stereo version of the original monaural broadcast sound source from the 1960s, which has been remixed using the latest AI demix.This new master has been reborn with a much clearer and more three-dimensional sound than the original, and its sound quality is superior to that of the pseudo-stereo and official sources of the past.The new master also removes the “voice-over” effect that occurs when the DJ's voice is overlaid on the broadcast performance of some songs, and the recording is presented in a never-before-seen stereo version of the performance.The contents are recorded in chronological order, starting from the UFO Club sound source on Granada TV, which was broadcast before the BBC as a UK TV broadcast, to the BBC radio and TV broadcasts. The album contains the best sound of all the interesting recordings, including live studio arrangements and previously unreleased songs.The bonus track “Drive Under the Stars” (early studio demo) is also included in the latest edited AI stereo version.CD2 is the “Original Mono Masters,” which includes the original broadcast mono soundtrack.
