Description: LARGE POND AERATOR (Roots Dresser WhispAir MAX Positive Air Blower Model 1701) You are bidding for a quantity of 1 (one) industrial grade air blower suitable for aerating a large garden or estate pond. Aerating a pond or water area increases the oxygen in the water, eliminating problem algae and smells associated with stagnant water. Aeration improves the water conditions for breeding healthy fish whether for ornamental or commercial purposes. These blowers can also aerate fish farms. They can also blow packaging peanuts into place, among other industrial uses. These blowers were purchased for aerating wastewater systems but became surplus to requirements. Since then they have been stored and may have superficial external rust (see picture below). They have never been used and are still in their original boxes (by now the boxes are not so great!) and we believe they are in excellent condition, however we have heard that the shaft may initially seem frozen. This can be remedied by using penetrating oil and greasing the bearings, as is required before any use. We held this item so long it became a discontinued item! (Our mistake!) Since these blowers are purely mechanical and have never been used, we presume them to be in perfect working order .* IMPORTANT: The blowers ship without oil in the gearbox and no grease in the front bearings. Proper lubrication before use IS NECESSARY and is the responsibility of the buyer. The 1701 model housing measures approx. 6.5 inches long and 4.5 inches wide, containing gear box and impeller chamber. The pulley shaft is 1 7/8" long and 9/16" in diameter. This model has the advantage that either side air opening can operate as the blower. The openings are 1 3/4 inches outer diameter. No hose is attached to aerator as you buy it and it uses a pulley shaft which turns the blower mechanism. This shaft requires a belt to an external (not supplied) .5 - 1 hp motor to operate. The motor and pulleys are not included. This blower is not suitable to use for vacuum applications, nor pumping water. The nearest equivalent currently is the 22 U-RAI. Maximum Speed 3500 RPM The blower moves 6.5 to 21.5 CFM of air depending on speed of rotation. The Spec sheet for this blower is available upon request. Following the instruction manual, the 1701 model should give many years of service. However. as this is a discontinued item very reasonably priced, why not invest in 2 blowers for 100% spares?!!
