Q- Can flokati rugs be vacuumed and machine washed? A- Flokati rugs can be brushed, vacuumed and machine washed. (Depending on size) Brush: Use a stiff bristle plastic hairbrush to occasionally brush the wool. It will clean the wool topically and make the pile look great. Vacuum: You can vacuum your flokati. The trick is not to go forward and backward. Place the vacuum in the middle of the rug and pull it back toward the edge. Then repeat. Wash: Use a mild detergent like wool-lite. Use plenty of liquid fabric softener. Air dry or tumble with NO heat. *Optional— brushing the wool as it dries will make the wool straighter.
