Description: This antique rare style of plate is a true gem for collectors. A piece of Jones, 'Picturesque 'Orientals Beauties' blue and white plate circa 1830 transfer printed with a scene of landscape with oriental building and 2 oriental people surrounded by flowers, within a cream relief moulded foliate border and indented rim. It has a slight wave feature that is shown on a couple of side edge photos and a lovely shell style handle on one side, probably for ease of handling as well as the design feature. The backstamp printed with a blue cartouche with 'Picturesque 'Oriental Beauties' with 'Jones' below. Attributed to Elijah Jones. The plate is in good overall condition.
