Description: An EXCEEDINGLY rare LP of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, recorded and pressed in 1965. I have not seen any other listing or reference anywhere to this record or its catalog number. "Before the victory is won, somebody else may have to face physical death," Dr. King said prophetically on this recording of his acceptance speech of the Pacem In Terris award in Davenport on April 28, 1965. "If physical death is the price some must pay to free their children from a permanent death of the spirit, then nothing can be more redemptive." In a stirring speech, Dr. King speaks of the American Dream and the civil rights movement's place in it. This record represents a piece of that history, and is likely one of very few copies if any that exist. The LP is in good playable condition with no skips. It comes in its original plain white jacket in fair to good condition (has shelf wear only) and paper sleeve. The record's label on side 2 was signed by the original owner who was a (novice? nun?) in the church in Davenport at the time.
