Description: RARE Medieval Psalter Manuscript - 12th Century C. 1150 This amazing manuscript is a beautiful Psalter! This Latin manuscript fragment on parchment was recovered from a book binding. 26 lines each side. Font: Gothic Textualis. There are multi-line initials in red (partly rubbed or cut off). Produced in Italy, during the middle of the 12th century. An early manuscript fragment from a psalter or liturgical text as original of Gregorian chants: "Laetatus sum in his quae dicta sunt mihi: in domum Domini ibimus" ("I was glad when I was told: We want to make a pilgrimage to the House of the Lord"). -- Very clean, clear rotunda with particularly beautifully painted red verses as initials.
