ROLL TOP DESK Piano LAMP This rare vintage piano, bankers, or book keepers desk lamp is in very nice condition with a few quirks/character flaws, and is being sold as found. The lamp features a very ornate weighted round base, bronze fixed stem (this lamp can not be made to "stand up" like a regular bankers lamp) and arms, and a pivoting green cased (white lined) glass shade. I haven't been able to find a maker's mark, but there are 2 tiny remnants of a green manufacturers sticker on the inside of the shade. The porcelain pull chain socket seems original, though the cord is a modern replacement, and the lamp works well. A couple of the screws are probably replacements. There are some tiny chips along the bottom edge of the shade (pic 23), and there are a few little bumps in the glass that occurred during the manufacturing process (pics 21-22). There is also a spot on the base that has been soldered, perhaps to cover a hole from a rotary switch. The felt on the bottom is coming loose and should be replaced. Lastly, while the base is weighted and quite heavy it is still slightly tippy. I found that placing a stack of 2-3 pennies under the front edge fixes the problem. The shade will be removed and boxed separately for shipping. You can see in the last picture that the shade is removed by loosening the 2 side screws and lifting it off.
